One end of my musical spectrum involves producing quite ambient, chilled-out music, most of which is instrumental. This originally came about as a result of answering an advert in a music mag, submitting some tracks and subsequently being asked to do an album. The album in question turned out to be 'Travellers Tales from Other Worlds'. It was released in cassette format only by the Northstar label in 1997.
This was followed up by an album released on my own label (J&J) in 2000. The particular album in question is 'Through the Myst', a collection of tracks inspired by the amazing landscape photography of the late John Hansell. Tracks from this album have been used in many different contexts - from compilations, through guided imagery CDs to background music for a stereo photography society (yes, really!) - a couple also told me it was the music of choice for the birth of their child - blimey, don't get better than that...
'Through the Myst' continues to live on and it's one of the projects I'm most proud of!
Then followed 'Standing Stones', an album inspired by various ancient sites dotted around the UK. It follows a similar vein to 'Through the Myst' but is perhaps a little more celtic. 'Standing Stones' is also available through J&J.
