Yes, the above date is yet another confirmation of my rubbishness at updating this site!
Been busy as usual. At long last, we've started writing some BONED material which will hopefully see the light of day later in the year - remember, you can't rush rock. Also continuing to write and produce all sorts of other stuff as usual.
Looking forward to seeing (and hopefully meeting) a bit of a legend of rock (in my world, anyway) at the weekend. I'm lucky enough to be on the guest list.
I'm not rich and I'm certainly not famous, but I do feel somewhat blessed when I think about some of the experiences I've had because I'm a musician. I mean, what could top soundchecking Chas Hodge's piano at the Grosvenor Hotel in the absence of the great man (Chas from Chas and Dave, of course)? Exactly, nothing!

Ha! Where does the time go? Lazy? I don't think so, but perhaps I'll settle for virtually lazy..?
Anyway, now I'm here - what have I been doing? Well, producing quite a lot of stuff for media/sync pitches - mostly rock. Yes, I've been whiling the hours away bellowing out all kinds of stuff about macho things - motorbikes, strippers and the like. This has led me to collaborate with some really interesting people (no, not the strippers). Also been doing a bit of remote (e?) session work as a direct result.
Could have sworn I updated following the BONED trip to Germany. Never mind, suffice to say it was ****ing brilliant. We were looked after like stars and delivered what I think was our best ever show. I'm sure I've said this before, but allow me to repeat myself - we could all learn so much from those Germans!
Again, there's talk of a BONED Christmas single - will it happen? Seems mad to talk of Christmas maybe, but I recorded my first Christmas offering way back in Feb...
...and now, here we are in April and the temptation to do nothing but get the roof down and drive (before petrol prices render such pursuits the preserve of the rich) is almost too much to bear.
But, of course, I'll resist and do some more work...

Yep, that's right, a consistent two months from the last entry. How do people manage to tweet and FB so often? Just in case there's the slightest chance anyone may visit this page and, beyond that, the even slighter chance anyone is interested, I'd better share some news.
Well, fthe last two months have been busy on many fronts what with significant birthday celebrations and much socialising at home and abroad.
BONED played at Nottingham Central recently as a warm up to the German gig in December. It was great to be rocking out with me ole chums again and, despite a relatively small turn out, we nailed it. In fact the gaffa said we were the best band ever to have played there. Well chuffed.
Just returned from a few days in Germany with friends visiting my Brother-in-law and his wife. Had a brilliant time, as usual, and indulged in some brilliantly engineered leisure time - perhaps a little over-engineered. We can learn so much from those Germans...

Just the two months between updates - getting better. Still really busy in all aspects of life. Looking forward to getting back with me ole BONED chums as we rehearse for gigs later in the year. We have been invited to play a special gig in Germany in December and hopefully we'll pop some UK dates in too.
There never seems to be enough time to do everything and I'm reminded about the flight of time as I approach a particularly significant birthday. But, the most important thing is that I allow myself time to play with what can only be described as a very indulgent present that I have jokingly named 'Bankruptcy'...happy birthday to me!

Has it really been that long since I last made an entry? That means I'm either really busy or really lazy. I like to think it's a healthy mixture of both.
Not much to tell regarding the lazy bit, but much going on with the busy bit. Getout Records is slowly gaining momentum with a steady flow of releases that has also led me to work with some great people. In fact, I've recently put out some material produced by a guy who was in one of my favourite bands of the 80s. Thirty years ago, when I was first listening to his music, the digital age was just dawning and who would have thought that our paths would cross in the new millennium because of digital technology? Though, ironically, it's acoustic music...
Well, although the Getout and Unbelievable Music UK projects are incredibly absorbing, I have managed to find the opportunity to produce some of my own music and also some for others.
It never ceases to amaze me how diverse and just plain bonkers life is. How can it be that within one week you can be facilitating the release of a track called Sea Slug, play two RAF functions, provide the music for a Royal Photographic Society nature presentation, appear in a video as a female backing singer and be invited to play with a rock band in Germany? Yeah, was a pretty slow week...

Happy new (?) year to all. Was a fab festive season for us and hope it was for you also!
Had a great first day shooting the video for the forthcoming Shake Hands Eric single Long Stay These Days (released on my Unbelievable Music UK label). Was a little odd spending the afternoon dressed as a clown amongst a bar full of other clowns (yes, really) - mind you, the old juggling came in handy. This music lark never fails to surprise. The single is out online 15-02-10 and, as the promotional duties kick in, I'm becoming busy busy busy. It's a great track, very tuneful and singalongable - I'm hoping the bonkers video will really help the cause too.
Many thanks to The Stuart House Hotel in King's Lynn for letting us clown around in their bar and also to everyone else involved (crew, makeup girls etc.).
Talking of the Stuart House Hotel, I'll be playing there with me old chums The John Noakes Experience on Friday 19th february - see ya there!
Oh, and a bit of news about a gig at the College of Westanglia, King's Lynn, organised by my mate Stef Judd, featuring guitarist Jennifer Batten, who has played with Michael Jackson and Jeff Beck amonst others - should be interesting. Must try not to show her up (ha, ha)...

Time for another update. All is well in Griggsland and I'm busy as ever. Good news is that Getout Records is up and running and there will be several releases from now until Christmas. They kick off with an EP by my good old mates The Swelltones. If you are in need of some proper rock/pop with influences from all that's good about British music, click here!
BONED have also been writing new material for release in 2010.
Firstly, if you have recently tried to get in touch through this site, I may have inadvertently erased your email. Please try again - sorry!
Things remain very busy in Griggsland. Been working on various projects since summer - in fact, I can't remember a busier time!
BONED play at the College of Westanglia, King's Lynn tomorrow night (1st October 2009). The John Noakes Experience also have a gig at the Queen Vic in Snettisham, Norfolk tonight.
It's now confirmed that BONED will be playing at the College of West Anglia in King's Lynn, UK on 1st October 2009 in support of the Teenage Cancer Trust. Also on the bill will be Jon Lawrence & the Jail Band, Envy and Swai.
Been really busy working on other projects so precious little time to spare at the moment.
The Noakes play Loddon Jubilee Club this Saturday evening (27-06-09). Please come along if you're able to, would be good to have an audience...
Other activities continue as usual.
Another 'Noakes' gig last Saturday, not busy but great fun nevertheless.
BONED are in 'regular' rehearsals and looking forward to getting out there, well, getting out anywhere...
Been busy working on Unbelievable Music UK releases as well as doing some sessions for other artists at DTM.
Will eventually get that solo material out - don't hold your breadth tho...
All is good - had a 'John Noakes Experience' gig last weekend - the 'proper' three-piece lineup - was great to play - and we played great - doesn't get any better than that for me I must say!
Still churning out stuff in all directions and hopefully some of it will see the light of day. Also working on the first releases through Unbelievable Music UK - I'll keep you posted on that.
Stop Press!! BONED are playing tonight for the first time in a while...
Well, been a busy time at DTM, doing plenty of recording and also sessions for other artists. This business never fails to surprise me and I'm never sure where my music will turn up next. Seems a couple of my 'chilled' tracks are included on a compilation put together by Universal Records for M&S - yes, Marks and Spencer...they obviously still have an eye for quality, ha, ha!! Not heard the rest of the tracks yet, but the album is definitely worth buying for the 'rarity' factor (I'm actually singing lead vocals on them).
You can purchase the album here.
Still working on the stuff mentioned below, but also some other stuff a little more conventional. Hope to complete it and make available soon. As the site develops, you'll probably see more opportunities to purchase various items - please do, ha ha!
There's never enough time...
Firstly, welcome to the updated site - about time eh? And now for the rest of the news:
BONED are still busy rehearsing for intended gigs in the new year. Nothing concrete as yet, but loads of ideas. Certainly don't want to be hasty - you can't rush rock...
Also looking to do some writing for BONED at some stage soon in order that we can consider new releases in 2009.
Been working on production music also, in-between other stuff.
