Welcome to the only real update on the musical life of RWG (when I find time)
12-07-10
Has it really been that long since I last made an entry? That means I'm either really busy or really lazy. I like to think it's a healthy mixture of both.
Not much to tell regarding the lazy bit, but much going on with the busy bit. Getout Records is slowly gaining momentum with a steady flow of releases that has also led me to work with some great people. In fact, I've recently put out some material produced by a guy who was in one of my favourite bands of the 80s. Thirty years ago, when I was first listening to his music, the digital age was just dawning and who would have thought that our paths would cross in the new millennium because of digital technology? Though, ironically, it's acoustic music...
Well, although the Getout and Unbelievable Music UK projects are incredibly absorbing, I have managed to find the opportunity to produce some of my own music and also some for others.
It never ceases to amaze me how diverse and just plain bonkers life is. How can it be that within one week you can be facilitating the release of a track called Sea Slug, play two RAF functions, provide the music for a Royal Photographic Society nature presentation, appear in a video as a female backing singer and be invited to play with a rock band in Germany? Yeah, was a pretty slow week...

Happy new (?) year to all. Was a fab festive season for us and hope it was for you also!
Had a great first day shooting the video for the forthcoming Shake Hands Eric single Long Stay These Days (released on my Unbelievable Music UK label). Was a little odd spending the afternoon dressed as a clown amongst a bar full of other clowns (yes, really) - mind you, the old juggling came in handy. This music lark never fails to surprise. The single is out online 15-02-10 and, as the promotional duties kick in, I'm becoming busy busy busy. It's a great track, very tuneful and singalongable - I'm hoping the bonkers video will really help the cause too.
Many thanks to The Stuart House Hotel in King's Lynn for letting us clown around in their bar and also to everyone else involved (crew, makeup girls etc.).
Talking of the Stuart House Hotel, I'll be playing there with me old chums The John Noakes Experience on Friday 19th february - see ya there!
Oh, and a bit of news about a gig at the College of Westanglia, King's Lynn, organised by my mate Stef Judd, featuring guitarist Jennifer Batten, who has played with Michael Jackson and Jeff Beck amonst others - should be interesting. Must try not to show her up (ha, ha)...

Time for another update. All is well in Griggsland and I'm busy as ever. Good news is that Getout Records is up and running and there will be several releases from now until Christmas. They kick off with an EP by my good old mates The Swelltones. If you are in need of some proper rock/pop with influences from all that's good about British music, click here!
BONED have also been writing new material for release in 2010.
Been really busy working on other projects so precious little time to spare at the moment.
The Noakes play Loddon Jubilee Club this Saturday evening (27-06-09). Please come along if you're able to, would be good to have an audience...
Other activities continue as usual.
Another 'Noakes' gig last Saturday, not busy but great fun nevertheless.
Will eventually get that solo material out - don't hold your breadth tho...
Stop Press!! BONED are playing tonight for the first time in a while...
You can purchase the album here.
Still working on the stuff mentioned below, but also some other stuff a little more conventional. Hope to complete it and make available soon. As the site develops, you'll probably see more opportunities to purchase various items - please do, ha ha!
Firstly, welcome to the updated site - about time eh? And now for the rest of the news:
Been working on production music also, in-between other stuff.
